1969

Birth of Natura

Passionate about cosmetics and relationships, Luiz Seabra founded his company "Indústria e Comércio de Cosméticos Berjeaut" which became Natura a few months later.


1970

First store

Opening of the 1st Natura store on Oscar Freire Street in São Paulo. Luiz Seabra personally assists clients. The flower is chosen as the logo: the flower is the purest representation of an emerging life and of beauty as a whole.


1974

Direct sales

Natura begins its development through a direct sales model.


1977

Catalogue of 40 products

Natura now has a line of 40 products, and the first Natura magazine appears.


1979

The Men's line

Launch of a line named SR N, inaugurating the men's product segment, which was a novelty at the time.


1980

Rapid development

10 years after its foundation, Natura now has 200 employees and more than 2000 consultants.


1982

Internationalisation

Natura's first foray outside Brazil was in Chile.


1984

Natura is the 1st brand in Brazil to offer refills.

Natura celebrates its 15th birthday and becomes the world's first company with refillable products.


1986

Natura Chronos

Launch of Chronos, a line of anti-ageing skincare products that enhance women's beauty at every stage of their lives.


1990

Our current logo

The rosaceae flower became our symbol.


1995

Crer para Ver

Creation of Crer Para Ver, our only line of non-cosmetic products, the profits of which are entirely donated to associations acting to support education.


2000

Natura Ekos

Launch of the Ekos line to enhance the assets of Brazilian biodiversity and promote the economic development of Brazil's poor regions.


2001

New premises in Cajamar

Opening of the Cajamar site. At the main entrance it says: We are here, dreaming and making the world a better place


2003

Against animal testing

End of animal testing


2004

Initial public offering

ISO 14001 certification and IPO


2005

Natura expands into France

Opening of the first Natura store in Paris


2007

Carbon neutral

First carbon neutral certification


2009

40 years old

Natura reaches its 40th birthday and passes the symbolic mark of one million consutlants around the world.


2010

WWF

Natura is the first Brazilian company to join climate advocates WWF


2011

Amazônia

Launch of the Amazônia programme to develop investment and economy in Amazonia.


2014

New ecoparc

Inauguration of the Benevides Ecoparc in the state of Para, a business centre based on the concept of industrial symbiosis. In the same year, Natura became the first publicly traded company to receive B Corp. certification.


2016

Opening of new stores

Opening of new stores throughout Brazil, 1st store in New York in the United States.


2017

Natura & Co

Creation of the Natura & Co. group, bringing together the 3 companies that are now jointly owned: Natura, Aesop & The Body Shop.


2019

50 years old

Natura celebrates its 50th birthday
