Our cosmetic products are manufactured in Cajamar, near São Paulo, Brazil, where Natura's headquarters and factory are located. Once checked and packed, the products are shipped to Franceeither by boat or by plane. In line with our commitment to sustainable development, we favour sea transportation as it is more energy-efficient and less polluting in terms of greenhouse gas emissions.

Each year, we set ourselves a target for progress. In 2012, 65% of our imports were made by boat, compared with 51% in 2011, while maintaining the objective of ensuring the best availability for our Consultants and Clients.

Finally, since July 2011, we have also sought to reduce the impact of our activity on the environment by optimising transport between the port of Le Havre and our warehouse in the Paris region. Containers unloaded at the port of Le Havre are now transported by barges on the Seine to the river port of Paris at Gennevilliers. This river transport, which is more economical in terms of diesel (40% less diesel consumption), has enabled us to avoid the emission of 3 tonnes of CO2.
