Finishing
How to finish all hair types
It doesn't matter if your hair is straight, curly or frizzy. The right finish after washing makes all the difference.
Everything you do to your hair, like moisturising, washing with the right products and getting a great cut, is wasted if you don't finish your hair. Usually using an oil, spray or styling balm, finishing provides texture and shine.
Benefits include a final touch-up in terms of volume, frizz control and an extra dose of shine. Need any more reasons to include finishing in your hair care routine?
Take care of your hair before trying to finish it
As Gui Cassolari, Natura Brasil's official hairdresser, reminds us, well-groomed hair is easier to style and, as a result, finishing is easier too. This is why, before embarking on the grand finale of your hair routine, you should wash your hair with the products recommended for your hair type. Moisturising your hair regularly also makes a difference to the final result.
Finishing straight and straightened hair
"Use the blow dryer to finish with a blast of cold air and then apply an oil on the ends to boost shine, like Pataua Repair Oil", the hairdresser says. It closes the capillary fibre and gives a sleek effect, without weighing down the hair or making it look flat. "If you have straight hair you need to watch out for excess sebum", says Gui Cassolari. If you have a problem with frizz or if you have straightened your hair, you can also apply a styling balm like Murumuru styling balm which will provide moisture, suppleness and shine.
Wavy, curly or coily hair: activate!
Especially dependent on hydration, wavy, curly and coily hair can enjoy stunning curls with a curl activator. This may take the form of Murumuru styling balm, which helps to tame frizz, or Patauá repairing oil, which adds shine to your hair while lightly fragrancing it. Before applying the products, gently dry your hair and use a diffuser to add volume. "However, if you have very curly or coily hair, you should be careful or avoid using a hair dryer altogether as it can increase the dehydration of your hair", says Gui Cassolari. You can achieve a more natural effect in this case by massaging the hair lightly from the bottom to the top.
