Avoid frizz

5 tips to reduce frizz in wavy hair

Tired of running away from the rain or worrying that the slightest hint of humidity will make you look like a fluffy little sheep? Follow these simple steps to reduce unwanted frizz.
It's a scenario a lot of women are familiar with: all it takes is a little light rain or a humid day for your hair to stop behaving. Frizz doesn't discriminate between colour, style or social class and can leave any woman's hair looking a complete mess!
"Frizz is hated all over the world. Nobody likes having frizzy hair", says Guilherme Cassolari, Natura Brasil's official hairstylist. Don't panic though, there's no need to tear your hair out looking for a solution. With these simple tips, you'll be able to reduce frizz in wavy hair.

1: The right accessories

Not using a plastic brush or comb is one of the golden rules for avoiding static electricity, the terrible effect that gives hair a frothy look. Use a wooden comb and only comb wet hair.

2: No fuss!

Speaking of brushing, never brush or comb dry hair. As well as breaking down hair's natural curls, it increases volume and frizz. After drying, just style your hair with your fingers.

3: Finish it!

Choosing the right products is vital, like Murumuru Styling Balm, which texturises the hair without drying it out and maintains the curly appearance while keeping frizz at bay, especially if you're a fan of blow-drying. Your roots need special attention: reposition rebellious hair with your hands and avoid leaving it wet by patting it dry after shampooing.

4 : The ideal shampoo

Because of its natural structure, wavy and curly hair is generally drier. So use less shampoo. The drier the hair, the more likely you will experience frizz and breakage. Only use products suited to your hair type, like Ekos Murumuru Shampoo, which enhances the beauty and shine of curly hair by moisturising hair from root to tip. If your hair is really dry, we also recommend Natura Lumina Shampoo for dry hair, which will provide deep down nourishment.

5: Turn down the heat

Make cold water your best friend and enjoy less rebellious hair. That doesn't mean you have to freeze in winter though! But why not turn the shower down just a little? "Washing your hair with warm water reduces frizz", explains Gui Cassolari. Hot water damages hair and increases frizz.
