Hydration tips

How to moisturise wavy hair

This type of hair is generally softer but this doesn't mean that it doesn't need a good moisturising routine.
Neither straight nor curly, wavy hair is very common in France due to the cultural diversity in the population. An advantage? If you have this type of hair, it's generally easier to style and will suit a wider range of haircuts. However, some problems that are more common in straight and curly hair can still arise. "The root is more prone to excess sebum, while the waves can prevent moisture from reaching the lengths", says Gui Cassolari, Natura Brasil's official hairdresser.
That's why it's important to keep an eye on dehydration and get into the habit of hydrating it about once a fortnight. Depending on what your hair needs, you may want to choose treatment ampoules, which provide more intense hydration. Masks are ideal if you're after healthy, shiny hair but don't necessarily have a problem with dehydration. Enriched with Murumuru butter, Murumuru Care Maskrepairs, nourishes and adds shine to your hair. And most importantly: without weighing it down! You'll also get this intense nourishment with Natura Lumina repair mask for dry hair.

Moisturising wavy hair at home

According to Gui Cassolari, any moisturising routine should start with a good wash. First of all, choose the shampoo that best suits your hair type: dry, oily or colour-treated hair, for example. The Natura Lumina range or the Natura Ekos range offer alternatives for every hair type. "Next, determine the degree of dehydration and choose between an ampoule or a mask", says the expert.
Remember that neither Patauá Restorative Oil nor Ekos Murmuru styling balm should be applied close to the root (leave at least three fingers space) to avoid weighing down the hair fibre.

Have fun with your wavy hair

As it is generally more flexible, wavy hair can be more or less curly, depending on the product used. And that's a big advantage! If you use a hair dryer or straighteners, remember to protect your hair with a heat protection product that leaves a film on the hair, preventing dryness and dehydration caused by the heat of the hair dryer. We recommend Natura Lumina heat protection spray, which will protect your hair from excessive heat from electrical appliances.
For a more pronounced wave, we suggest Murumuru styling balm, which holds the wave for 24 hours, or Natura Lumina styling cream for curly hair. To apply it, lightly scrunch the hair in your hands or blow dry using a diffuser for even more volume.
