How to prepare your body and mind for a good night's sleep?
We know how important a good night's sleep is for our physical and mental health. Sleep accounts for 1/3 of our lives, but often it is not of sufficient quality.
Everyday life can bring its share of worries and stresses and make it difficult to fall asleep. And even though sometimes sleep disorders can be more intense and require medical advice, in most cases a few changes in routine can help us find more serenity at bedtime.
Here are our 3 tips for a more peaceful night's sleep:
- Disconnect.
The INSV (the French Institute for Sleep and Alertness) recommends abstaining from screens for 1 to 2 hours before going to sleep, for 2 reasons: the blue light from screens stimulates the retinal receptors, making our brain think that it is still daytime and delaying sleep; and exposure to the different information on social networks or on the web can cause cognitive excitation that is detrimental to sleep. - Take care of yourself.
During this time of disconnection, focus on calm activities: reading, soft music, manual activities... and pampering. Establish a body and face care routine to reconnect with your skin. Need some ideas? - Meditate.
If you've never done it, try guided meditation. The voice in guided meditations is often very soothing and brings a sense of calm, and it helps you focus on your breathing, relax your body and calm your thoughts. Several apps are now available to help you get started, including the Meditation Natura app (free app, available in English, Portuguese and Spanish).
Taking care of your body
Bedtime can be a special time to reconnect with your body.
Here is a simple and effective routine to help you relax before bed:
- Take a shower. An evening shower can help you mark the separation between your active day and the night, and the contact of your skin with warm water can help you relax. With Ekos Maracujá Shower Gel, you're guaranteed a soothing sensation!
- Massage your body. Warm a little Maracujá or Andiroba Fluid Massage Cream between your hands and apply it all over your body, starting with your feet, legs and working up to your arms and shoulders, while exerting light pressure to release tension.
- Massage your scalp.Put a few drops of Patauá Strengthening Lotion on your fingertips and massage your scalp for 1 minute. The massage will help you to relax and you will make your hair stronger, promoting its growth.

Taking care of your face
It is already known that a good night's sleep is restorative for our body and extremely beneficial for our brain. Did you know that the same is true for our skin?
During the night, the skin benefits from the moments of rest and takes advantage of them to repair the damage caused by the external aggressions of the day. Having a skincare routine at night gives your skin the ideal conditions to regenerate and detoxify itself while you sleep.
There's nothing better than turning this routine into a moment of well-being and relaxation, for an even more restful night. Our tip? Chronos revitalising oil! Just 3 drops for a relaxing and revitalising ritual for your skin! But how to use it?
First of all, remember to remove your make-up and tone your skin. Next...
- Step 1 : Apply 3 drops of Chronos Revitalizing Oil in the palm of your clean hands.
- Step 2 : Rub your hands to warm the oil and release its aromas. Smell its aromatic and relaxing fragrance...
- Step 3 : Place your hands gently on your face and apply light pressure.
- Step 4 : Massage your face to complete the absorption of the product.
The oil can be used on the neck and decolletage using the same ritual.

Taking care of your baby
As young parents know, a good night's sleep for mum and dad depends directly on the baby's night's sleep. That's why today we're going to talk about the evening routine for the baby. A baby who is massaged, surrounded and cuddled by mum and dad's gaze is more serene, calmer and more fulfilled. A relaxing bath, a soothing massage... Reassured by the touch and the look, soothed by the relaxing scent, baby will sleep better. And the parents too. ❤
Baby’s massage routine
Place the baby on the changing table, on a bed or on a changing mat on the floor, whichever is more comfortable for you. Warm the massage oil in your hands and apply it to the baby's skin:
- With gentle strokes diagonally across the chest
- Sliding your hands up and down over the tummy, and using clockwise circular movements
- Wrapping baby’s arms and legs with your hands and moving back and forth from the top to the bottom
- Massaging baby’s back from the neck to the buttocks, using a gentle back and forth motion
Tip: The intensity and rhythm of the massage are very important factors for true relaxation. With a firm touch and a slow rhythm, the feeling of security and tranquillity will be the greatest.
The bath
If possible, finish the massage with a bath. The touch of warm water on the baby's skin is very pleasant and relaxing, as it brings about sensations of intrauterine life. The bathtub should be full so that your baby is immersed in the water and can relax well.
To finish, use Mamãe e Bebê's relaxing baby cologne: its soothing notes of chamomile and lavender evoke all the well-being and comfort of a peaceful sleep in a cosy little bed.
