5 professional tips for washing your hair
Hairdresser Guilherme Cassolari Natura Brasil's hair expert, is here to teaches you the right way to wash your hair if you want to keep your hair looking silky and healthy.
Curly, straight, wavy, frizzy, whatever your hair type: washing it will always be part of your everyday routine. Depending on how you do it, washing and cleaning can contribute to (or damage) the health of your hair and scalp.
1. Washing frequency: every other day or every 3 days
According to Natura Brasil's hair expert, Guilherme Cassolari, the optimum frequency for your washing hair is every other day or every 3 days, but the routine has to suit each individual woman's day-to-day life.
"Ideally, it's every other day for all hair types. Especially for Brazilian women, who live in a tropical country, where the scalp tends to sweat more", explains Gui, who also recommends washing every three days, especially if the woman has long hair and doesn't have time to dry it.
2. Product choice: always buy products that are suited to your hair type.
Another tip from the hairdresser to keep your hair beautiful and healthy: always use specific products for each hair type. "Using the wrong shampoo and conditioner is one of the most common mistakes in hair care", says Gui Cassolari. "By applying the right products, you'll give your hair what it needs, whether it's curly, bleached or chemically treated."
3. Daily combination: shampoo + conditioner
Depending on the occasion and the desired result, he recommends washing your hair with different combinations of products. The duo of shampoo and conditioner is a simple and easy way to take care of your hair on a daily basis.
4. Intense hydration combination: shampoo + mask
On the other hand, if you are looking for more hydration, replace the conditioner with a care mask after washing.
5. Finishing combination: shampoo + mask + finishing product
"On days when your hair needs more in-depth care, use shampoo, plus a mask and finishing product. Ideally, you should apply a finishing treatment like Pataua Repair Oil or Murumuru Styling Balm and a heat protector, like Natura Lumina protective spray, before drying", he advises.
